When the party finally crossed into the Lower City of Baldur's Gate, the city did not feel like a victory lap. Every alley seemed to hide a knife, every mansion a secret, and every fight demanded more than the gear that had carried them through the shadow-cursed lands. They had survived Act 2, but the closing stages of the journey called for armor with unique effects on top of a high Armor Class. Enemies would have to get incredibly lucky with their rolls to hit, and the party would need every edge they could find. In 2026, with the game's final balance state, the same four exceptional sets still define the endgame for most adventurers: the Flame Enamelled Armor, the Robe of the Weave, the Bhaalist Armor, and the Helldusk Armour. Each one demanded a choice, a heist, or a hard fight, and each one rewarded the party in a different way.

🔥 Medium Armor: Flame Enamelled Armor
The best Medium Armor in Act 3 is arguably the Flame Enamelled Armor, a set that arrived with a slew of bonuses. Increased Initiative meant the wearer was more likely to act earlier, an aspect of combat that should never be overlooked. Fire Resistance and help with Saving Throws made the wearer more durable, while the Fire Shield spell reduced incoming Cold damage and, more importantly, could deal a high amount of Fire damage to melee attackers. The party found it by looting a chest in the corner of the Wyrm's Rock Fortress armory, the room southeast of the waypoint in Wyrm's Rock. It was not the most dramatic discovery of their journey, but it was one of the most practical.

✨ Clothing: Robe of the Weave
As arguably the best Clothing or robe in Baldur's Gate 3, the Robe of the Weave was naturally the best Act 3 choice for most spellcasters. It granted an extra 2 AC and heals on Saving Throws, making it great for any character to wear, though it was naturally best for spellcasters who could make use of Arcane Enchantment. In terms of visuals, which mattered more when strutting around the streets of Baldur's Gate, the robe could look bland at first, but with the right dye it could be completely transformed. The party headed to Ramazith's Tower and located it behind a Globe of Invulnerability. A See Invisibility spell revealed a lever that opened up this Globe, and the reward was worth the detour.

🗡️ Light Armor: Bhaalist Armor
For an assassin build or anything similar that dealt melee Piercing damage, the Bhaalist Armor was an absolute must. Its Aura of Murder made nearby enemies take twice as much Piercing damage, and combined with some of the best One-Handed weapons in Baldur's Gate 3, such as Daggers or Shortswords, it could deal serious damage. The only downside was that those aiming for an honorable playthrough could not acquire it, as the wearer had to accept Bhaal and become an Unholy Assassin at the Murder Tribunal. If they did so, the armor was then sold by Echo of Abazigal. The party's rogue called it a bargain; the cleric called it a warning.

🛡️ Heavy Armor: Helldusk Armour
The Helldusk Armour was widely considered one of the best endgame armor pieces in Baldur's Gate 3, and despite being Heavy Armor, any character could wear it. It had the best AC of any armor in the game, while also granting Fire Resistance, immunity to Burning, and reducing all incoming damage by 3. Enemies would also end up Burning if they cast a spell that the wearer saved against. Last of all, the wearer could fly wherever they liked while wearing this Heavy Armor. To obtain it, the party had to defeat Raphael in the House of Hope, a location reached only by performing a ritual in the Devil's Fee shop. It was the hardest fight of their Act 3 campaign, and the armor became a trophy as much as a tool.

📋 A Quick Comparison for the Party
| Armor | Type | Why the party wanted it | Where to find it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flame Enamelled Armor | Medium | Increased Initiative, Fire Resistance, saving throw help, Fire Shield | Chest in the Wyrm's Rock Fortress armory, southeast of the waypoint |
| Robe of the Weave | Clothing | Extra 2 AC, heals on Saving Throws, spellcaster synergy | Ramazith's Tower, behind a Globe of Invulnerability |
| Bhaalist Armor | Light | Aura of Murder doubles nearby Piercing damage | Accept Bhaal at the Murder Tribunal; sold by Echo of Abazigal |
| Helldusk Armour | Heavy | Best AC, damage reduction 3, Fire Resistance, flight | Defeat Raphael in the House of Hope after the Devil's Fee ritual |
The party did not agree on a single best set, because the best armor in Act 3 depended on the role each adventurer played. The wizard wanted the Robe of the Weave, the rogue dreamed of Bhaalist Armor, the front-line fighter trusted the Flame Enamelled Armor, and the reckless bard simply wanted to fly in Helldusk Armour. What they agreed on was that Act 2 gear could only carry them so far. By the time the final battles arrived, the right armor was not just protection; it was a story of choices, risks, and victories that the party would remember long after the city was saved.
